Gear Jumping Out

Post by DannyH »

Hi guys

just drove up to Glasgow (210 miles) and on the way up it jumped out of 5th gear 4 times

it was after around 100 miles and did it over a period of 20 mins or so and drove the next 100 miles without any problems.

Any ideas?

Check your gearbox oil level, if it's low the car will jump out of 5th gear.

If you don't know when the gearbox oil was last changed might be worth draining and filling the gearbox with fully synthetic oil.

I use this stuff, 2L is plenty for a oil change.
