Suspension for mk2

I am looking to replace the front and rear suspension so i was just looking for a few pointers... i dont want anything lowered and i want to replace the strut and springs as mine are in bad shape.
Am i right in saying mk1 golf struts fit a mk2 scirocco? Also does anyone know of good value for money brands without breaking the bank?
