Is it adjustable? sounds like it just bottoms out??? Can someone watch you drive off the curb to see what happens? in terms of weight distribution theres a lot of weight on the side thats on the road if one side is on the curb

loose bolt somewhere ie bottom ball joint, the shock strut to hub bolts, top mount bolts and securing nut on the very top of the strut.
if there is play you should be able to feel it if you jack the car up and wobble the wheel using a bar or something to apply pressure

Worth checking if the damper insert has any movement in the strut. People have put a washer or penny in the bottom and then tightened the collar to ensure the insert has no play in the strut.

Ill give it a good check over Thanks.
It is odd that its only one side and when a curb is bigger than usual.
It drives brilliant appart from this so i will have to get it sorted

Just had a look and everything was tight sadly.
I got some stilsons on the shocker insert and nipped it some more but to no avail.
I have noticed under no load there is up and down play though in the strut at the top nut. Should i try adding a extra washer to the piston shaft at the top to see if it helps?

Sounds like it's worth adding a washer at the bottom under the damper insert of there's movement in the strut body.

Would the top of the strut not also close the gap?

It would, be careful the washer doesn't touch the seal around damper rod to avoid damage or leaks.

If you lift the wheel off the floor and put a bar underneath the tyre then leaver on the bar you should see where the movement is, I find it’s usally the nut ontop of the strut mount, there is a think metal bush which is meant to be a crush bush when you tighten the nut but I find I can’t crush it, I remove the bush and grind a little off it. The car MUST be sat on its wheels and you undo the big nut, remove the big washer then with a couple of thin screw drivers you can remove the metal bush, grind a little off the height then re-grease then refit and test again once the car is back in the air...
You can see the metal bush which inserts into the top mount in this link...

As soon as i get a chance i am going to have a good luck and diagnose it. Everything's new so either way something is either faulty or the washer gap is out as Mark suggested.

Finally got round to filing the bushes down today until no play was present when jacked up.... It drives bettrr no doubt but on high curbs on a good lock still produces a bang?
Is it normal on curbs say 5-6" high for it to sound loud on drop off?
I checked all the new ball joints, bushes etc and nothing has play in it.
Thanks
Mick
