Head Unit Faults

Hi Guys,

Long story short: I got my Scirocco Mk3 in April this year. When I was buying it second hand, the head unit did not work. The dealer said that he will fix everything and I picked it up a month later with a new head unit. I didn't realise that it was not a genuine VW part until I started having issues with it (would randomly turn on radio, menus in Chinese etc) and I asked the dealer to replace it with a genuine part, even though it was nice to have bluetooth in it. They put in a refurbished VW unit in and about a month later or so IT DIED.

Now it keeps switching on and off continuously, but the screen is always black. If you press the power button, it gives you a welcome menu for a second or two and switches off again.

The worst thing is, VW ran diagnostics before it died and said that everything is fine. I'm starting to think that it's an inherent electric fault. I even disconnected the battery for an hour for the ECUs to restart but no dice.

Anyone has any ideas? :beg: :beg: :beg:

It's a 60 plate Scirocco 2.0 TDI.

Cheers!
