What seats are a bolt in fitment to the Mk2? I have poor condition standard seats and am thinking some nice aftermarket ones may be cheaper than a refurb!
Thanks

corrado all the way or with some modding audi tt seats have been made to fit but requires cutting and welding.
alternatively you can still by seat runners and a choice of bucket seat.

Anyone tried MK3 seats in a MK2, they're a great match visually. But can they be made to fit?

You can still get subframes from most of the seat manufacturers i think. Sparco, Cobra, Corbeau etc. Then drop a sliding runner kit on top and drop their seats on top of that. Cobra Le man seats always look good in the retro VW's in my opinion! :)

Great, one of my concerns was width and depth. Mk3 seats look quite deep.

They will go in with a bit of modding and yeah they are quite deep, the frame hoop is different to a mk1/2 style frame, have mk3 recaros in mine (mk1) and had to chop/notch the floor crossmember a bit to get them to sit low enough

How did it go in the end? Did fitting the MK3 seats wipe out rear seat use?

Guys, will a passenger seat slot into the drivers side runners on a Mk2? Is there any difference between each sides fittings?

I am pretty sure the seat frames are mirror image of each other and not reversible.

That's what I feared!
