B-pillar trims

I am thinking of removing the black b-pillar trim on th Mk1 as per the earlier cars, has anyone done this mod? It looks like the rear side window needs the boomerang withe the extra side and that the existing seal just needs the aluminium trim putting in. On the front side windows do I need a different seal?
