I'm too cheap for a proper re-spray. Anything I can do at home for cheap? My beautiful red Rocco is going pink!

A temp fix would be to remove the worst of the lifted lacquer and then feather the edges in, go 1000, 1500, 3000 and then cutting compound.
It'll leave lines where the lacquer peal starts and the base coat will be a little brighter than the remaining lacquer covered paint, but the only option really, other than plasti dip or vinyl wrapping (Both around £800 ish)

If you were to look at doing a respray, in my experience fair jobs start around £2500, I wouldn't advise going any cheaper than that.
I painted my car last year and spent about 3 days prep, 1 day paint, 2 days cutting/ polishing and around £900 in materials. So no idea what sort of job you get from these £1500 places!

A quick cut a polish should take the oxidation (Pink) out of the paint though.

mine goes pink quite badly in places. it gets a decent going over with autoglym paint restorer, then their super resin polish followed by a few coats of fusso99 wax. i've got a few bits of laquer peel, i think it's just the arches on the bodykit. if i get chance this summer, these will get the peeling laquer sanded back, then a fresh clearcoat, probably using rattle cans

If its going pink under the good clear coat then no amount of polish or other product will turn it red again as the laquer is in the way. It will make it shinier tho and maybe less noticable from a distance

I’d have a word with a local detailer who could pop to yours and give the car a mop and polish. Hard to say on lacquer peel without seeing pics
