Seats

Post by JonoG »

Hi!

I have recently bought a MK2 Scirocco GT 1.6 and I was after some advice on seats - the ones in it are in really bad condition. I have bought some mk2 golf seats and the fronts seem to for fit in ok, however the drivers seat seems to be a little tall (gap for legs between seat and steering wheel is a little tight) does anyone know the best seats that fit in perfectly? And what rear seats fit as the golf ones don't!

Thanks

Corrado front seats fit straight in, rear does but with a lot of work (not straight forward)

You could strip down the seats and use the Scirocco seat base and fix the the Mk2 golf seat back to the Scirocco base then you still get the lower seat.

It’s fairly straight forward stripping the seat, I think there is guides on the web, try searching Mk1 golf as well.

Its fairly easy once you get your head round all the fixings. Your better off keeping the scirocco bases

The plastic trims on the hinges have 3 pins you need to push through and then they pull off fairly easily

seems nuts that ive just sold a pair for £100 in very good nick
could have made millions
i want to know who on earth is buying this stuff :read:

corrado seats do fit in but they are a bit on the tight side where the adjustment lever sticks into the floor.
i think the best best is like mark says and strip the golf ones for salvageable parts to make the rocco seats good again.
unfortunately i sold off all my spare foam and bits at last years national meet.
