Since the unfortunate ending to the A reg blue storm , i have been searching for the "next best thing" as a replacement. After doing a deal with the 20vt scala i managed to aquire this one. Mechanically alittle rough but the main thing was the bodywork. And the deal was doneImageImageImage

i found problems with the mani studs so removed the inlet manifold to gain better access and see what was going on, also with the old exhaust downpipe i modified the heatshield and refitted it to the 421 as to prevent the uj boot from burning a hole.polybushed the new wishbones and replace the outer arb clamps.

with thanks to mr monza jake,we managed to fit the triple vdo gauges as to keep an eye on the engine temp and pressure as the clocks are abit suspect.

Ohhhh looks very nice and you have now gone brown.....

When I fitted my 4 2 1 manifold I also covered my UJ boot with a plumbers solder mat only a few £, I used some stainless steel cable ties to hold it in place and the Matt is the right size to cover the boot. UJ boots seem to be getting expensive now so I wanted mine to last for a few years.

Quite funny as didnt originally like this colour but once i was up and close to it , its actually a nice one. And think my ronals have taken away that " oh its brown" look. Have now added the matt into my watch list. Thanks

Had an issue when fitted the 421, the midpipe didnt have a good enough bend and was hitting the gear change gator causing a burn through the boot, another boot on order [emoji849] so took the car to my local exhaust guys for some custom work. Once home decided to fit the kamei grill too . ( Very nice ) ImageImageImageImage

fancied the idea of a straight through exhaust system, actually sounds nice, normal driving it is subtle and hard driving it gives out a nice aggressive sound. the problem i had was the midpipe was knocking on the gear selector so thought sod it. lol

Is that a custom made exhaust?
I see you have no flexible section between the 4,2,1 and mid section is that what the exhaust place recommended?
I ask because I also have no flexible section between my 4,2,1 and my original standard exhaust and wandered if I should fit some thing?

The flexi is to allow the exhaust to expand and contract to avoid cracks
