Passed MOT, interior water leak and an underwater brakelight

The missus has had her 92 rocco for just under 3 months now, and the car went off for her MOT test. Please to say the car went straight through, without any advisories, so we're well chuffed!

The missus says after heavy rain, sometimes there's a small gush of water in the passenger footwell. Any tips/pointers on where to start looking? On the rado the usual suspects are blocked sunroof drains and the heater air intake scuttle seal can break down over time. Pointers gratefully received. Oh yeah, also the nearside brake light sometimes fills with water. I have had the cluster out, and it looks ok. Worth drilling a small drain hole in the bottom of that light compartment, or is this again a known fault with an easy fix?

Thanks in advance

Sunroof drains and windscreen seals are common. Watch out for water getting onto the fusebox and causing problems with corrosion.

There is also a plastic sheet/membrane behind the door cards which if missing, damaged or not stuck properly along the bottom and let some water in.
Check the rubber drain plugs along the scuttle panel (where the heater fan is) are clear of leaves and dirt.

Rear lights might be worth drilling a small hole or sealing around joint or find a 2nd hand one and replace it as not a common problem for them to fill up with water.

One of my rear light clusters used to fill with water - replaced the unit to resolve.

Okies - thanks for the pointers. I've finally got a weekend off, so I'll have a poke about and see.

I'm also going to be putting in an ignition switched live feed for the radio and a dashcam :)

This may be helpful if searching for a feed from the back of the fuse box.

When I wanted an ignition live feed for my radio I took the switch for the heater blower/ fan out and spliced Into that.
