It's been on ebay multiple times for ridiculous prices. It was sold at auction last Saturday for £2200

Indeed this car has done the rounds!!
I think the late Ian Croucher went to have a look at, a few years back. He was not impressed.
Check out the MOT history its not good :( Both rear axle mounts have been welded

I think you are being a little unfair about welding and rear axle mounts, it's a common rust area on these cars and if left unchecked and not treated they will rust out, the car is now 33 years old so rust is expected in some area.

I recon the car was owned by someone who just drove it and left it to a garage to do the repairs/servicing and that's why it rusted around that area.

It's now got 12 MOT so is road worthy but as will any 33 year old car there is always rust hiding somewhere. :-D

Just my thoughts........

It's in better condition compared to this one if it's a Storm?

I must buy all the Scirocco's that have never been welded then ;-) MK 1 & 2
Seriously! Axle mount patches! If there is rust there, in my experience, then that is the tip of the ice berg!
Only way to solve it is mount renewal! EXPENSIVE

Well it sold on eBay to a newbie to eBay, or perhaps someone just upping the price... we will have to see if it's up for sale again soon. Time will tell. :-)

It's odd but the Storms i have looked at buying over the years have always been the worst by far for rust!

My old 1.6 GT was a £350 snotter stop gap but yet had very very little rust

The Scala, well you've probably all seen it has very little rust if any

Strange...

Strangely enough will I tend to agree!
Not very representative but i've only worked on 1 MK2 storm for a friend. I have to say It was the rustiest MK2 I have ever worked on. Rust everywhere!
Remembering I have owned over 10 MK2's and worked on loads

The sunroof makes a difference to rust over the life of the car

Up for sale for the third time on eBay. "Due to timewasters" I'm guessing buyers are turning up and seeing something very different from what's in the pictures.

Keeps going for £2k + and not selling.

And again a new person to ebay pushing the price up but new newbie did not win it this time??

It sold at auction for £2200 so I guess who ever bought it was hopping to make a big profit on it.....

Why would you advertise your car with 5 year old pictures? Why not take some new pictures and use those as most of us now have some sort of digital camera. :-D
