Morning all
Having decided to keep my MK2 now its time to lower it and add some nice rims, Question is are MK1 springs the same? as Ive been offered a complete new set of 40mm lowered springs but will they fit? im also thinking a set of 13" BBS off of a G40 Polo.
Thanks

Mk1 golf suspension and mk1/mk2 scirocco are all the same. However, spring rates may differ between models and the better ones would be specifically rated for the intended model. Eibach springs are good if you're keeping standard rather than coilovers.

don't forget to cut down the bump stops too by 40mm or you will be riding on them

I found this out the hard way, drove about for a month till I realised why my ride was a bit harsh.

I have the eibach pro kit springs on Koni STR shocks and I fine the ride pretty good, although it can be a little bouncy, I've heard the H&R springs on stock shocks or Bilstiens are a good set up. What springs were you offered?

I have the H&R springs and I'm very pleased with their performance.
