Hi,
I'm after some advice please. I'm looking to go Le Bug show in Belgium this August and this time I wanted to take my Mk1 Rocco Storm, though I've had a look at european breakdown cover and I was wondering if any of you have had previous experience of this?
My main concern is if the car breaks down (touch wood it doesn't) and needs to be bought back home to England. I have looked at Brittania's policy details and it reads that they will repatriate the vehicle if the cost of the repatriation doesn't exceed the value of the vehicle. I believe my car to be worth a conservative value of around £2500 so wondered if anybody would know if it is likely to cost more than this to bring it home, as in this case they would just write off the car and pay me the value of the car, which I don't really want.
Or alternatively does anyone know how the insurers would value my car?
Thanks in advance

Re: European Breakdown Cover Advice?
I've looked at a few companies including AA and they all seem to offer the same cover which is if recovery costs more than value of car they will write it off and give me the value of the car.
I think a spare relay though is a very good idea (having already replaced one).

I always use AA If you go for the top cover they will recover the car to the UK regardless of value
