Scala Badges - Silver or Black?

My Mk2 Scirocco's B pillar "Scala" badges are a little tatty so I'm looking to get some new ones. My ones are completely black, but I've seen some with silver on them. Pic below taken from Google Images shows both types.

Are they 2 different types or are the black ones just that the silver has worn off? If they're different, what models can I expect to find each of the variants on?

Thanks!

It depends on the colour of your car. You are right, the paint must have worn off of yours. The badges came with the script in either white, paprika red, sapphire(light blue metallic) or Inca (dark blue if I remember right). There may have been more, but the rule of thumb is they are colour coded to the body colour.

Fantastic, thanks for clarifying that! My car is black, so is it right that they're completely black, or should they be white (I'm guessing definitely not paprika red, sapphire or inca)?
