i renewed the membrane in my doors with some heavy duty polythene sheet from tool station.
says its waterproof and rot proof so should be great in the door.

i found if you undo the top bolt holding the window reg guide in place y9ou can slide the plastic between the inner metal skin and the mechanism and window.
this way water is channeled straight to the bottom of the door and not trapped against the inner metal skin like the origenal ones tended to do.

the plastic folded over the top of the door frame then gets trapped in place by the door card stopping it moving around.
because the plastic is trapped between the window mech and the inner skin it doesn't foul the window moving up and down

I have never personally been a fan of plastic in the doors anyway. Its just a means of trapping condensation and starting the corrosion process.

A little more noise etc but i tend to rip out anything that. holds water and let everything breath.

I’d be careful with this. Removing these plastic membranes (or damaged ones) is a common cause of wet interiors. They’re designed to make sure rain water is channeled out through the bottom of the door to the outside world.

Its nice to know that they actually work on Rocco's. I personally would of been more inclined to waterproof the back of the door cards and let it breath as much as possible.

They work when they’re in good condition and fitted properly. Often they aren’t by now.
