So my fuel pump shit itself and set on fire this morning in the engine bay. I was running a kr on r1 bike carbs.. and I think I've probs trousers the carbs. I feel like I'm done with bike carbs with all the issues I've had with them in my time so I'm after some suggestions for engines. I Coul get all the kjet stuff and put it on injection, put a 8v carb back in it... a 8v injection engine...? Twin 40s? Literally suggestions for any engine... I don't want to spend loads and I don't want anything tooooo involved. It's a carb shell and it's never run injection. Anyway shoot!!!

if i were you i would go abf or 1.8 turbo if you want some power.
neither is particularly expensive and most of it you can DIY.

if you want to go back to basics and cheap then stick with an 8v lump on a weber.
its a lot less hassle.

Lots of choices out there depending on budget, what you have left of the engine in the car and skills you have, some info here.

Im going down the 1.8t route hopfully shouldnt be long, most items can be found online etc. Epytec mounts make the job easier. Fly by wire throttle and hydraulic clutch from the 02a gearbox.

I thought of abf lump but found that parts were hard to find and engines getting on 20 years old hence now using 1.8t from a 2003 audi a3

1.8t is the common choice and decent power is pretty easy lsd is a must if your going for 200+
