Sunroof install

Post by Rocco2 »

Hello guys!

I'm struggling to get the sunroof system back in and to work properly. Changed what was broken or bent, greased everything.
Took my time to install everything same way I took it out.
Looks promising...until I start to turn the handle.
It only moves correctly once. It will not come back out again or will close. Like the cables are too short.

There has to be trick how to position the cables, pulleys and everything else so it would move as intended.

Thank you for the help.

I googled up the same "vw sunroof pdf". Apparently my english is not quite good enough to understand what are they babbling exactly. :|
So got stuck with those darn cables. How to exactly position everything to be able to get it working. Need simpler words :D

Can't understand why it only moves, as suppose to, once and then gets stuck. The cable drive makes a click and doesn't move anymore.
Before removing the system it worked, just had couple of things missing and bent and had a new clean headliner made.

Added describing pictures.
Roof almost closes but the cable driver makes a click and thats it - gets stuck. It's like the "hold down tab" will not move enough for the "stop lever" to be able to get back where it should be.

This only happens on the left side.

Any hints?

Tilting is functioning at least.
