Image Rough timeline! Bought the new old stock Bieber kit off Joost in November 2015. Finally picked it up from Joost in the Netherlands about 1 year ago.
Donor car was my get me to work hack (82 GL)
Car delivered to Ant at Rust Republic in April. After lots and lots! of toil on Ants part I got it back in late November. Since then Ive been putting all the mechanicals and trim back together. Now ready for its MOT. That will be in a couple of weeks due to work.
It now keeps my other Bieber company in the garage.
Just a note on Ants excellent quality shows It is of a much higher standard than my other Bieber. Doors close easily, swage lines match, Also some extra bracing in place

Cracking car you have there, I guess you like the open top motoring?
Is the car water tight or are you just using it on nice sunny days?
Mk1 Scirocco in 1 corner of the drive and a Jag XK8 in other.. nice.. :-D

I have some but I will let Ant show them ether here or on his own web site, or FB page.

Its more water tight than my other one!
Open top motoring is ok I just like my Scirocco's "Different"
As with my other one this is going to be mainly a summer toy. (His & hers ;-) )

Yes, Mark. It's waiting its turn at Ant's.
I too like my Sciroccos different. We now own 4 Biebers in the North!

Nice one H, a his and hers. My other half is German and when it comes to the Rocco, it's always that car! Great to have the other half that appreciates something different. Enjoy!
Looking great.

A brief walk through the work involved:

We began by bracing the car with the box sections supplied with the kit and added our own tubular bracing between the B pillars and the rear wheel tubs and between the rear shock towers.
Image

Then cut the roof off.
Image

A lot of fine tuning until we were happy with the fit of the fibreglass rear section. Then it was attached. The screws in the pic are to hold in in place until bonded.
Image

Ditto for the section at the top of the windscreen.
It was at this stage also that we decided to modify the fibreglass tub to enable the fitment of the rear seat. Usually the rear seat is absent in this mk2 conversion, with an odd void behind the front seats.

The fibreglass pieces were then blended in to the shell and a sealer applied.

Commence further bodywork and primer.

Then paint.

The doors, boot lid and bonnet were painted, whilst the hood frame was painted gloss black.

The car was flatted and polished, then fitted up.

Look forward to you getting started on mine.
I'll have a trip over to discuss details and bring the wheels I picked up at the great Scarborough give-away.
