horn not working...

so i have sorted all electrical gremlins except this one!

when i press the horn the relay clicks but no sound.
if i put negative and live directly to horn it works and honks so thats fine!
fuse is fine, but if i remove it relay won't click so assume that works
assume relay works as it clicks.
so the fault must be between the relay and horn.

the horn has a brown wire and a black with yellow lines. i have replaced both ends with new terminals.
i assume (and maybe wrong) that the brown is earth and black/yellow is the switched live triggered by the relay
i cannot get continuity between the brown and earth
i cannot get continuity between the black/yellow and the relay terminals.
its like there is a plug somewhere that needs plugging back in

any ideas? the horn stopped working 5 years ago....so may or may not be due to me messing about in the engine recently

Have you checked for voltage at the multi connector at the back of the fuse board when the horn is pushed?
I believe it is connection C15 black/yellow wire. In theory if the earth is good you should get 12v showing when the horn is pressed.
Black/brown wires are links to earth (brown).

First off I would try a known good relay, always start simple you'd be amazed how many hours you can spend trying to find a fault when you assume a component is good, ask me how i know :)

All sorted now thanks. Turned out I had a fuse missing after all that! Must have borrowed it years ago and forgot!
