Morning commute to work and what a lovely morning to be out. I pulled up in a layby for some pictures.

As it's getting colder and the frost is just starting to bite anyone else still using their Scirocco?

Yep, GTX is on work duties at the moment. Just going to book an MoT for the Mk1 Storm, which will still be out and about over winter.

good to see you using it, use mine everyday, either for heading out or going to the office (150) mile round trip, I have found when I don't use it it creates problems.

love the pics, looks in great condition. Mine is driven once a week at the moment!!

Only goes to work when the sun is out......!

was hoping to drive mine to work today but my drive was blocked in by others.
i do have snow tires but im starting to have second thoughts driving it as theres so many idiots on the road these days that are bad enough in the dry let alone in the ice and snow.

The last time there was any decent snow (2010/11 winter, I think), I had an old, slightly rough mk2 Polo that I'd paid £350 for. Being light and on narrow tyres, it was quite good in the snow, and I didn't really care if it got pranged as it owed me so little. If we regularly had bad winters, I'd definitely have a winter hack.

In other news, mk1 Storm got a clean MoT ticket, so now back on the road... just in time for the gritters that I saw out this evening.

A good run in mine today, 320 mile round trip to see Mr Funk in Kent from Somerset to collect some Mk1 golf doors, the doors fitted in the back of the car OK. Lovely morning and afternoon to be out and about and the car did not miss a beat, need to get the tyres balanced again as a I found out on a down hill bit of road
