Does anyone know which VW or quality after market seats (leather) will fit directly on to the sub frames in my GTX?

for the money i would get yours re-trimmed thats what i plan to do with mine.
if you speak to mark watson from africa he has been making leather covers for mk2s, however ive not seen them in the flesh yet so cant comment on the quality.
storm leather is quite hard to come by and expensive given most are ageing and/or damaged.

There is a guy who has been selling a mint storm (Blue) interior on gumtree and classic cars for about 2 years now, but think he wants £800ish for it.
Best to go for a retrim, or if you're happy with just the front seats being switched I believe corrado seats bolt right in.

Times have changed. I bought my mint storm interior for £200 and sold my old one for £60. Wouldn't get a door card for that now!

Polo 6n2 Gti's and Colour Concepts came with leathers, they bolt straight in. Also mk3 Golf VR6's came with leathers too and their the same subframe

You'll want to swap the subframe to a mk2 scirocco one, though, as golf ones are much taller.

corrado front seats bolt right in - and you can find them in leather too.

this might sound a bit drastic but audi tt seats are quite cheap to get hold of.
they look very similer in size to the roccos so maybe it would be possible to strip the leather off and get it tailered to fit?

i would love a set of corrado seats but the prices are extortionate for what they are.

Why not get your seat retimed in leather then it's like having a brand new seat, they are simple seats to take apart and a good trimmers should be able to do this no problem, you could do 1 at a time to spread out the cost?

A decent retrim of a full set of seats will cost £1000-£1500 at least.

Oh... that's more than I thought it would be, best to find some 2nd hand ones then.

like ed says its quite expensive yet a bargain seeing as 25+ year old ones are going for £800.
trouble is £1000 buys a lot of other interesting stuff aswell
