Stiff steering towards full lock

Hey all, it's been far too long since I last drove a Scirocco. I've finally got one on the road and can't remember driving this one if this is normal.
Basically steering is quite nice and direct for about half the turn, but the last bit towards opposite lock seems quite stiff.
Car's completely standard including wheels.

just check that the steering gaitors arent wrapped up inside the rack.
i had the tracking done on my car ages ago and the guy who adjusted it didnt check the boots hadnt got wrapped around the tie rods when he adjusted them and when i put it on full lock the boot jammed up inside the rack making full lock really difficult.
totally ruined the boot!

Check the steering rack is centralised, eg same amount of turns from centre to full lock, it's easier to do if you jack up the front of the car.
If the steering wheel has been off and not put back on straight then the tracking adjusted it will throw it out to get it back to normal count the turns and put the steering wheel back on straight, it may drive with the steering wheel at an angle then take the car to get the tracking adjusted.
