New member with an '88 Scirocco GT

Post by Elliot-L »

Hi all, new member having just purchased a 1988 Scirocco GT. I pick the car up next Wednesday (the 15th) so until then I don't really have much to say about it. It's got circa 100K on the clock with a manual gearbox, I've known the car for a while and it all seems nice and straight although I'm sure I'll have some questions / things to do once I've given it a proper going over. The first job I've got to do is the brake switch, the lights are currently sticking on at the moment so I've ordered the part from VW Heritage and will be doing that before driving it home. Once I've got the car I'll post some proper pictures up but the time being I'm afraid it's just dodgy screen shots!

Elliot.

Thanks!

Also I've sorted some snowflakes to put on it, does anybody know what the current wheels are? They don't look particularly aftermarket but I haven't seen another with them on either....

The alloys on it look like 13" ones that were fitted to some Polos, I think.

That's not a bad shout, I know the owner did have a MK2 Polo a few years ago too.

When I've got the car I'll whip them off and see what they're stamped up with.

Must admit I've never even heard of these, were they a company that manufactured rims for VW?

Looks clean! Haven't had chance to look at the codes or anything yet, am I right in saying this colour is 'flash silver metallic'?
