Hi guys
I had a mk1 Gls shell and joined this site to get help sourcing parts for it. I got a lot of help from really good people on here but had to sell it and the parts because i came across this..
Picture attached.
I bought the jabbasports syncro conversion with no engine & no front brakes.
Was on ice for a bit but now here is the update.
I found a decent 225 bhp apx engine with ko4 turbo from an audi tt.
Bought a whole bunch of parts as finally my mechanic is ready to get the engine mounted to the rallye 5 speed
box and syncro system.
I finally found a set of wilwood 4 Pot calipers and 280mm discs to match the wilwood rear set up.
Previously, the car was restored and converted in 1999 by Mike Truluck. There is a lot to do to get it on the road but the evil genius stuff is done. Its a bit of a mish-mash inside and i'll need to buy and sell a few parts at some stage.
Will need an emerald k3 ecu or upgrade my m3dk.
Thanks for taking a look, apologies to the purists.
Will keep posting updates. Wish me luck!

If that's the one I think it is it was mag featured in the mid-late '90's and the driver's young lad was sat in the car in the pictures.
Good to see it's still alive

Yep pvw too, confirmed.
Mr Layframe!! Very nice to hear from you.
If its okay, i'll txt you soon for a few your goodies?!
The only update is that i should be collecting engine parts this Saturday from the apx unit to polish/paint.
I have an Emerald M3DK ecu that came with a ford loom, i'll use the same plug for the ecu and have the loom converted soon enough. I need to send the ecu for a firmware upgrade unless i can find their next model up which is a K3 ecu.
Only have a couple of pics of the parts for now, more
to come.
The trouble im finding is that I keep procrastinating over refurbishing or upgrading..
The latest one is...with the engine out, shall i tidy up the engine bay, relocate the battery, maybe smooth it and respray? Or just plumb in the engine and get rolling asap.
It seems to be the age old..for a bit more i could do/get this or do that...
Its driving me bonkers, i may not be alone in this sea of madness, who knows!?
Will try and upload pics - thanks for the posts.

Engine parts collected;
I was given some bits to refurb incl the rocker cover and inlet manifold.
I have opted for a part polished and a graphite grey look to the engine.
First attempt at polishing.. photos to come.

Engine will be going into the car in the next 2 weeks.
The ecu gets sent to Emerald for a firmware upgrade.
The drivers door wont close, not sure if i have to replace the latch??

I remember Mike building this in his single garage, at the time it was VERY cutting edge.. very few people had succesfully got the 20v running, same goes for grafting the synchro into a mk1 shell.
If the mag feature had a young lad in the car it would have been his nephew Luke, who, I think, is now the main man at Jabbasport

Great to see this progress, I tried to buy this about 5 years ago before I bought mine, had a few chats with Mike but he never came back to me to sort a deal... Should be sweet when back up and running! ;)
