Yes, I think they're a good deterrent to this kind of thief.

Other things are armed door plates and have the door pins removed.

Sorry to hear that mate!

Did they catch them? I remove my rotor arm if i'm leaving it a long time, but this has inspired me to fit a kill switch to the coil too

Nope no one has been caught. Car was in a field very close to Writhlington School, apparently the second car to be dumped and burnt out around there in the past couple of weeks... so be extra vigilant if you're anywhere nearby.

Will definitely be investing in more security in future. It had a battery cut off switch under the bonnet which I always switched off over night. So they obviously managed to find that, but perhaps they'd seen me do it...

Perhaps something along these lines: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aLhWzMOccTg

Utter gits.

I know how you feel,I went out one Sunday morning to see a pile of glass where I'd left the scirocco.
I drove round every where that morning looking for it,round all the well know places for dumping stolen cars but Unknown to me it had been recovered,,I didn't know this until the compound sent me a letter 2 weeks later telling me it was to be crushed.
Car was bugged having been left with broken windows in the middle of a very harsh December.
I started a thread on here called "stolen and gutted" all about and il never forget the sickening feel in my stomach when I saw the car had gone.
And to rub salt in wounds the lady at the compound said "it's only a D reg car" some people just don't understand.

I'm sure you feel gutted. 13 years you feel attached. Hope your insurance pay you out well. After that amount of time you will know exactly what to look out for if your thinking of getting another. Good luck.
