looked up the part number on parts base and the number i got was 0438170052
however when i spoke to a parts company they said that number didnt match my car and wasn't the one for my engine.
anyway is there anybody that has a mk2 injection scala DX that could tel me the part number on there fuel accumulator??
i would appreciate any help any one can give and help bring my scirocco back to life after 10years off the road.

You can buy them new but they are pricey, why do you think the fuel accumulator will help with starting the car? The fuel accumulator job is to hold the pressure in the fuel system once you turn the car off so when you restart it fuel is already at the right pressure so the car should still start even with a faulty one, it will just take some turning over.
I suppose it could have 10 year old petrol gunking it up??

New but check it fits, there is a few different one on ebay

Mk1 golf cabriolet uses the same accumulator as do some other VAG cars.

0438170052 is the Bosch p/n for VAG p/n 447133441 which partsbase shows as the accumulator for a DX engine
AVS sell them new for ~£100.
mark1gls, might not be a problem in sunny Somerset, but the last thing you want to be doing in Fraserburgh in the winter is turning the engine over and over to get it started.

I know what you mean, there was a touch of frost this morning....
I thought the car had not started at all after 10 years of sitting and that was the problem.

According to VW heritage they are the same tank but I'm not 100% sure.

You do have the larger fuel tank? If you have a space saver spare wheel then you have the bigger fuel tank.
There was someone on here the other month that bought a new tank for a good price I'll try and find the link.
Edit. I think this is where they got one but they are showing out of stock so may be worth sending a email to find out if they are getting any more and if carb and injection uses the same tank? I've used them before and the chap is very helpful and knows his stuff.
