Scirocco Register

Hi all.

My mk1 wont start and after doing obvious checks on battery etc still no joy.have checked for spark at plugs and king lead but nothing.there appears to be no power at one of the black wires which attaches to the coil.
Any ideas ??

Fuse, dodgy ignition switch, broken wire, corroded connector.

Assuming yours is still running points and condenser? Have you checked these are still ok?

No its injection.have tried new switch and barrel on ignition.must be a broken wire somewhere or earth strap.

if you have tested the live feed wires to the coil and there`s no power its highly unlikely to be a bad earth.
best thing to do is trace the wire to the fuse box or ignition column and see if the power reaches there too.
