Scirocco will be back on the road soon

Post by steve GT VW »

Hi All
My high mileage rocco should be back on the road after 3 months off, the Exhaust manifold blew a gasket after searching the country for a replacement Manifold without success, big thanks to those who tried to help, I had to get my old manifold face re machined 3 mm as there was some wear to near side, I was looking at getting a ss manifold but alas one of the bolts from the manifold has sheared off, so i was unlikely to the unit hold in place with one bolt for that pipe, so 7 new bolts ordered and this has been fitted, Inlet Manifold bolts are coming from VW tomorrow, so this can be re fitted along with new gaskets and sealing rings all around, then just get the carb put back on and hopefully it will be good to go?

which will be just in time I have been riding my motorbike to work but as the weather is no longer on my side it will be good to drive the rocco again.

Best regards
Steve
