3-2 Downshift Issue - GT2

As preventative maintenance replaced the full clutch and cable. Drained and refilled the gearbox with fresh EP Gear Oil.
Now being picky it feels the car Baulks out when doing a 3-2 cross gate down shift. It feels worse now than with the old clutch, it doesn't happen all the time, doesn't go away when hot. At first put it down to not fully depressing the clutch pedal and the clutch needing to bed in, but we are 500miles farther on and still witnessing the same issue.
The into and out of gear (1-2 and 3-4) are great, just the cross gate 3-2 shift as 5-4 is fine.
when looking at the gearbox from above their is slight play in the two ball jointed rods and very slight play in the plastic bushes.

Any ideas ??

Mark

There is not a lot of free play at present, definitely more free play with the old clutch, but I thought it was just wear on the clutch and a dodgy cable.
Would you recommend backing the adjuster off a little ?
Over winter will look at a the little plastic bushes and the two rods.
Just spoils a good drive at present.

Thanks
Mark

The Haynes manual does state a mesurement of free play, I can't remember what it is at the moment, not sure it will make much differance but it must be set for some reason.
You could also check the gap under the gear stick, there is a plastic inspection panel under the car which you remove to check the gap incase the gearstick is not quite going far enough over to slot in to 2nd.
I would then be looking at a new bushes as the sets from eBay etc don't seem to last long but they aren't that expensive. How old are the bushes on there?

To check the plastic relay shafts I put plastic bag material over the metal ball and clipped the relay shaft back over it. If it feels better then it's worn and needs replacing.
Or just keep it packed with plastic material.
Changing all the bushes does make a big difference though!
Best to buy a complete kit
