rear disc brakes

Hi all im very new to this forum, and like to say big hi to one and all,im in need off some info on rear disc brakes for me scirocco mk2 GT2 1991 1.8 carp, if some could till me what parts im going to need to do this job,then i could go on the hunt,

Hey there!

I would personally recommend not bothering with a rear disc conversion, it wouldn't be noticeable enough for the money you'll spend. Instead maybe look into upgrading your front discs and calipers and get a bigger booster.

But if you did still want to go through with it you'll have to replace the rear axles, hand brake cables as well as the discs and calipers. You could go with something like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Go ... 3f43f62422

Also, pretty exciting you have a carp in your car! Hope you're keeping it in water!

lol i thought there was somethiink fishy gone on in there :-o ,best i pull it out of the carburettor lol,and thanks for the info yep i make you right im going to go for an upgrad on the brakes,were would you say be the best place to look for some new upgrads,got any good links, ;-)

Go for 256 discs on the front. You can get Caliper carriers to fit from old Audis, look on the German bay or buy new Chinese carriers that fit from USA. Improves braking greatly and allows you to stop in time when driving on the motorway at speed. If you changing get steel braided hoses.

Thanks whiteshark for the info,do you have any links that i could use bro,as when it come to parts,im not sure what well fit,and where the best place too order the steel braided,and discs,as i do not mind spend good money on my safety fist ;-)
