Scirocco Register

Hi guys apologies if this is wrong section but it's trim related but also electrical maybe?! Move if needs be.

Basically going round and trying to sort my Rocco bit by bit, now one of the previous owners has fitted headlamp washers.

They do not work and by looking at the washer bottle there only one pipe which goes to front washer so I assume it's never been installed just more for show?

So my questions:

How do I remove them without breaking them?
Are they wired to work or do they like my polo ones work through high pressure water and no electrics?
What parts would I need to complete it so it works (assuming I literally just have the jets?

Headlamp washer. With a GTX you need tank 6A on the left and both pumps 19B (which you already have) and 20. There is a separate loom for the headlamp washer pump but you can make do with a simple relay setup.

Meant to say, headlamp washer bumpers are relatively rare, you can remove the washers by unbolting from the inside but you would then have holes in the bumper which would be nigh on impossible to hide unless it is a painted bumper that you could respray after filling the holes.

If you don't want to get it all working I would just get another bumper.

Best to get another bumper as already said you will have 2 big holes in the plastic and metal bar then you can sell the the bumper with the headlight washers on.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'd rather get them working then get rid. I can make a look up no problem. Just need to source the pump and bottle.

Work the original pump have enough push in it if I just cheating and added a T piece in and some piping going to the lamp washers? I know it means every time I do windscreen they'd go and I'd use a lot of water but maybe a easier option?

Alternatively I know some mk2 golfs had similar setup would the bottles be the same if I could source one?

You can get the basic tank for £18.38 + p&p from Heritage but if you can source a 2nd hand part it will probably come with all the accessories.

I doubt that a T-piece would work, the proper hose for the headlamp washer is like a garden hose (no exaggeration).

Just a heads up, it doesn't fit on the bracket for the existing washer bottle, so you either have to buy the bracket parts or fabricate something.
