Long time no post, but still here, even if am not on FB anymore!

El Scorchio aka The Shed celebrated 30 years in the UK on 12th July 2015, and her official birthday 1st August as this was the date she was registered. Having covered almost 280k time to give my daily driver a few months off so, 29th August was the last road trip for me and my beloved car for this year.

She is now in the capable hands of the great team at Rust Republic, residing at The Rocco Grotto, in good company and in good hands of the team there. Been a while since I have seen so many Rocco enthusiasts & Sciroccos.

A last photo of my beloved GTX before the road trip & restoration.

PS - she passed the MOT for the last 2 years without any problems, and I have decided that this car has a 40th birthday to celebrate, hence the birthday treat this year! :pilot:

That's done very well for a daily at 280,000 miles, my daily 1988 Mk1 golf has got to 260,000 miles and the engine is now out and being rebuilt as it was turning in to a real oil burner!

A new lease of life for it at Rust republic and another 40 years of driving then?

Edit.. I should of put 30 years but 40 years would be better!

Cheers - yes, good to be back Alex & here's to another 40 years of The Shed being on the road courtesy of Ant & the team at Rust Republic - in very good hands there. At least by burning oil I don't have oil leaks! >_< >_< >_<
