I'm handling the sale of cars owned by sadly departed Ian Croucher aka 'ianaudia4'

Model: Mk2 Scirocco Storm, Havana Brown
Year: 1985
Mileage: 129,891
MOT: Due 21st March - will be MOT'd next week, see photos and references below re work done since then
Current owner: Ian Croucher RIP
V5 present: yes
Location: Harlow, Essex - currently in Notts whilst work completed by Ant and for MOT
Price: £3,000 ono
Contact Details: pm on here, EMAIL press - at - sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk

Additional Information:

I am supporting Ians Mum and Dad through the emotional process of moving on his beloved Roccos - I'll be screening all enquiries - we're not going to have all sorts of random calls going through to them.

The Storm has graced many a club stand in the last few year and has benefited from Ians well known attention to detail and has been regularly maintained.

Paint is pretty good all over - it needs a good detail and there are two minor depressions, one on the drivers door and one on the front offside wing (both look very easy to deal with by dentmaster or similar).
Engine bay - really clean, decent bonnet lining too.
Interior - minor wear on drivers seat, see photos.
Wheels and tyres - very good, tons of tread
16V rear box - one of my old ones in fact!

There is a deluge of paperwork to go with the car - all available at the viewing day if we get to that point.

The Storm has failed on the MOT - details below.

Resurrecting this one - Car has now had the work done and will be MOT'd next week.

The emissions/idle issue was cured by pushing a loose injector in............

It's in the Nottingham area while that work and test is taking place.

PM if you'd like to view whilst it's in that part of the country.

This saddens me greatly - Ian has always been a top bloke - highly helpful and knowledgeable for me in the past on the forum, I'm shocked. Please pass on my condolences.

Work completed for MOT:
- car is now running on all four cylinders, injector no.3 was loose, incorrectly diagnosed by VW Harlow as a vacuum leak. Injector reinstated and mixture and idle readjusted.
- replacement of NS & OS rear brake hardlines.
- replacement of NS & OS rear brake flex pipes (braided items).
- welded repair to NS rear beam mount.
- welded repair to OS rear beam mount.
- replacement of OS track rod end rubber.
- Rear ARB mounts replaced.

Advisory items were NS rear handbrake required adjustment and NS bearing required nipping up. Done.

Oh, and I put half a tank of petrol in the car.

Deal done, Storm collected.

Cheers to Ant for a massive input into getting this car ready and delivered for a new life with what looks like to be a perfect Rocco loving owner.
Ditto to Peter for being in attendance to help sort out the transfer on this and, earlier, the Scala.

And so, thanks to Sean, massive thanks to Ant, Peter and the delightful Mr. & Mrs. Croucher, Ian's Storm has come to stay with me and my brown Mk1 Storm in leafy Hampshire! I think this will always be Ian's Storm so I'll just say I'll be looking after it for now!

My intentions for the Mk2 will be to slowly restore it as Ian was doing whilst keeping it on the whole standard, something I'm sure Ian would have approved of. I have also vowed to be a more active member here and make sure the Storm continues to be shown. I'll be starting a restoration thread when I get going with the car.

So.... Don't worry guys, it's in very safe hands.

I never met Ian, but if he was anything like his parents, I'm even more sorry I didn't get to!

Will do absolutely and thank you! I will start a restoration thread and post pics once I've worked out how to!

I bought a load of mk1 bits and collected from a guy in Somerset years ago! He had a bare shell in his garage on wheels?

If memory serves it was around Wincanton! I went there for something small like a rear light and filled the back of my pickup! He just kept bringing stuff out of the garage and selling it for next to nothing! I'm guessing that wouldn't happen now!

Your mk1 looks very nice! I'll get a pic up of mine when I can work it out!! Have you had it long?
