Mk2 rear wiper

Currently, a flick of the stalk backwards turns the wipers onto intermittent, and another flick turns them off. Or you can push the stalk back and hold it for squirty squirty.
I'd like to make it so you just flick the stalk as and when you want a wipe. I have yet to experience sufficient wetness to need it on the intermittent, and it usually ends with the blade chattering on a dry screen and me getting angry
Any suggestions how I can make this happen?

Seeing as it's the relay that controls the motor, maybe changing/modifying the relay would work.

Yes the relay had a timer in it. This would need to be changed to one without a timer then u would only have needs must wiper action.
Had to do this on my mums primera as the rear wiper came on whenever it felt like it
Disabling the dodgy timer stopped it

I guess someone fitted a relay out of a mk2 Golf as they all had timed rear wiper as the rear windows get rather wet/dirty when driving along.
Never had a problem with the Scirocco as the rear window always seems clear.

sorry it was late last night
ok remove the relay 72
look at its base and you can see that the terminals are marked
you need to make up a little joiner that links where terminal 53 and L went in
now this will put all your switching through the stalk.....any problems that people find with washers not working should always try
cleaning the contacts of the stalk switch....two screws and its right there easy to see....and clean with a small file
get back to me
