We are going to buy a new Aluminum Alloy Radiator as our's is broke and Sally is so high millage. Now I have found these 2 on ebay ===

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120855053859? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Could anybody off here tell me the difference between the two ? I'am thinking the first one you do not have coolant bottle as you put the coolant straight into the Radiator and this will keep her cooler ?
Thanks to all off here who can help it is more then appreciated.

Why do you want an alloy rad. You can get a vw spec rad for much less. Unless your running a race spec engine or a turbo it's wasted money

agreed.
if anything just fit a radiator with bigger area like from a tdi or gti, nip down the scrap heap and get a fan and cowling from a later model vw for an instant upgrade for less than one of those alloy ones.

I wouldn't think the increased induction would affect the need to increase your radiator capacity/cooling on a mk1 golf injection engine. The alloy radiators are more for show
I'm going the same route as James and I'm doing a abf conversion but I'm also using a air oil cooler with a thermostat for extra cooling

Make sure you get the sandwich plate with the thermostat, as otherwise the oil will run too cool.

I'm going for the stainless and the thermostat as well. I did run one with rubber hoses on my mk1 caddy 2ltr 8v with kjet . But the stainless are stronger.

Which ever you buy, watch out for the hight of it. The Scirocco has a very low radiator compared to all the other models.
I would use a 16V radiator if you want enough cooling. It is about 675mm wide and has enough room to place one or two Spal fans on.
