Is the VW Rabbit Auto Repair Manual by Haynes (1975-1992) any good?

Yes and No, It will cover the engine but the Rabbit is an American Golf so they may be some differences.
Haynes Manual will cover the body and engine.

Thanks! Will it cover the 16v GTX? I think not, as its not listed on the cover.

No not the 16v engine just the 8v, I guess you have the 16v engine then, was it fitted at a later date or a proper 16v?

You'd be better-off overall with the Haynes Mk2 Scirocco manual and then presumably a Mk2 Golf manual will cover the 16v engine.

If you want 16V you should buy the Bentley, but a lot more expensive, I like it more though.

It is an original 1986 16v Scirocco. Bentley manual ordered now from the US. Thanks everyone for the help.
