New project.

Post by Blueshark »

Hello all,

After having started reproducing various parts for our Scirocco's I looking into starting another one.

It began with the:

Raintray MK2 over 160 sold (none left)

Raintray MK1 about 15 sold (bunch left)

Bonnet lining MK2 (still going)

Bonnet lining MK1 (test fitted atm)

I want to try something new, takes a bit more work, but lets see who can gues what it is.

No promisses due to time, effort and cost but who knows what it will become.

When I know more I will tell........

These parts are not but the pipe maybe depending on cost and so on.

If it works will have them powder coated anyway.

Back again.

After a good month of bending fitting and trying here are the first results.

Various parts and my original one.

Close up of the beginning.

Comming week I wil go on with bringing it down to size, fixing the mount brackets and blow of pipe.

Due to hight cost it will not be stainless but when ready and the end price is known the option of having them powdercoated is there.

The thicknes of the pipe is bigger than original so that is also a plus.

Up to now for the first one has cost just over €.140-.

Working on it, and on the price as well.
Want to keep it low as posssible, ist not easy for something which has to be made up from nothing .

Will let know here if def.

hi joost,
does the standard filler cap fit the filler neck socket?
if so would it be possible to buy just the filler neck socket from you?
i would like to make another for my other project that needs to have the filler neck extended at the bottom.
cheers
james

Great work there, Joost. If you had some ready by mid-August I could pick them up on my way back from Italy.
