Scirocco Register

My 1987 gt has a ticking noise from starting cold.
It's not like a tappety sound more of a ticking but I can't find where it's exactly coming from.
Once car is up to temp it's fine.
Any ideas chaps?????

Can sometimes be exhaust gasket at the manifold blowing,
Other than that it's probably tappets
