rear light sponge seal stuff

anyone know what i can use instead of the original seal for the rear lights?
iv got a second hand set of lights to fit onto my other Rocco, they are only going on temporarily to stop the water getting in so i was going to use silicon or something, but these lights don't even have the original seals so there's a big gap between the light and the bodywork.
any suggestions?

i have been tempted just to use this stuff with some bathroom silicon

Please do not use sillicon.

1 it is a disaster to remove.
2 if you will ever have your car painted the painter will kill you because you never get it out of the paint again.

Use a foam window seal type of stuff you can buy at the hardware store
