Water Pump? (on my MK1)

If I leave a tub under the water pump, that is where it collects when stood.. No evidence of leak from bearing whilst running.
It's not a lot, but enough to mess with my head..
Annoying as I replaced the Water Pump 2 years ago with a new one from GSF - I think?
Anyone agree it is the pump again? Nate??

Look for furry stuff around the pipes etc on the pump that would indicate a leak. Wipe some bog roll around the shaft behind the pulley to see if there is any sign of coolant there

dont forget to check the thermostat housing, mine cracked not long after i changed my waterpump years ago, i think its the cheap plastic they make them out of that causes the issue, when you remove them they break up.

Nate - no evidence of any leaking around the plumbing to and from the pump, I gave the jubilee clips a nip.
James - it does not have the plastic housing for the stat, it looks a good quality pump from the appearance of castings.

Just had another look at the drip tray underneath and it appears it is pooling more toward the front of pump, I can't feel any moisture around pump casings, pipes etc..
There is some fluid residue on the sump pan studs around that area, I'm starting to think could the large 'O' seal be weeping between the block and the pump?
Like I say, it's not a massive amount, and you can't see any drips when the engine is running - only collects if left for a few days.

Yes, that o ring can leak, particularly if the block wasnt cleaned before fitting. The bolts that hole the pump to the block can come loose too. Worth making sure they're still torqued up properly
