Rear beam

Post by essextom »

Hi, gotta replace rear beam mounting bushes, got some ploys to fit but was just wondering if the bolts can be re-used or are they torque to yield? Also is a mk2 golf rear beam the same? Got one laying about so could refurb it fit bushes and just swap over. Cheers. Tom

Pretty sure a mk2 golf beam is different. Mk1 would be OK though.
Think the mk2 is wider.

Ben.

Rear beam is the same as on a Golf MKI with partnumber 171 500 051C except the 16V they have their own reinforced one 533 500 051.

Can reuse the bolts. Always worth a wirebrushing off and a drop of loctight. Try ddoing a side at a time that way you strain the brake hoses or pipes. Unless your renewing the whole lot anyways. Very simple change.
And as above mk2 golf beam won't fit straight in mods needed and stuff.
