VDO Gauges fitment

I'm looking to buy a set of VDO gauges for my 1.8 ex engine...I just have a few questions as i've drawn up a pretty basic wiring dirgrham of what I expect I need to do and it looks too simple compared to some of the looms i've seen attached to sets on eBay.
So if I went for Oil pressure, oil temp and voltmeter I'm assuming:
Voltmeter;
+ to Acc live
- to ground
Oil pressure (5 bar)
+ to swtiched live
- to 2 post 1/8 Sender unit (Second post going to original idiot light
Oil temp
+ to switch live
- oil temp sender (Unsure of which size I need)
Obviously all gauge bulbs
+ Dash lights
- Ground
This seems to simple so i'm assuming i'm missing something?

All + to switched live.
All - to earth.
Oil press and temp gauges have 3 connections, pos, neg and G. The G goes to the gauge sender for the relevant gauge.
Oil pressure sender needs to be 0 - 5Bar to match the gauge and the Oil temp sender is 0 - 180deg, also to match the gauge.
Oil press and temp senders are 10mm thread not 1/8.
Lights can be taken from the cig lighter lamp.
The cable for the oil temperature sensor is actually fitted in the wiring loom already, green/black wire with a spade just above the oil filter housing and the other end is loose and tucked up behind the fusebox and is easily found. An extra cable was run to the oil pressure sensor which was fitted in place of the existing low pressure sensor on the right hand side of the cylinder head.
I have done the conversion and I had a link on here but it doesn't now work.

Another thing...Do I have to t piece the existing senders? Or can I get rid of them completely?

No need for a tee piece just replace the oil pressure sender in the right side of the head looking from the front, (blue cable and black rubber boot) with the 2 pole oil pressure sender and connect the blue cable to the terminal on the new pressure sender. This will reinstate the dash low oil pressure warning light, connect a new cable from the G connection on the gauge to the G connection on the sender.
The oil temp sender replaces the allen bolt in the centre of the top of the oil filter housing, (use a new copper washer on the sender) and use the existing green black cable with a spade which is attached to the loom adjacent to it, the other end is found behind the right side of the fusebox. This needs to be extended and goes to the G connection on the oil temp gauge.

All done...Is there such thing as too many gauges?

Help me out mate, am I correct in this theory..
- VDO 5 bar oil pressure sender in the right side of the head looking from the front, (blue cable and black rubber boot) with the 2 pole oil pressure sender and connect the blue cable to the terminal on the new pressure sender. This will reinstate the dash low oil pressure warning light, connect a new cable from the G connection on the gauge to the G connection on the sender ?
- The oil temp sender (blue Audi type 049 919 563 B) replaces the allen bolt in the centre of the top of the oil filter housing. Either use the existing green black cable with a spade which is attached to the loom adjacent to it, the other end is found behind the right side of the fusebox. This needs to be extended and goes to the G connection on the oil temp gauge or run a fresh wire from the guage to the sender ?
So I will end up with the original warning lights and buzzer plus the facility of the gauges??

Hey Mark
- Pressure sender...That's where I put mine. If you got your kit from the audi then you'll have the second spade connector so you can hook up the dash light that currently on the original switch to it also.
If this helps, this is how I wired mine up...Not a pretty job, but it works.

The two yellow wires go to the pressure sender and the temp sender
