Silicone Hoses

Seen a kit on the VW heritage site that offers samco silicone hose replacements for all hoses in a mk2 scirocco.
My breather hose is looking quite bad, it looks like its been leaking oil and there are big cracks all along it, amazed no one before me has thought to change it. The pipes leading to the radiator aren't exactly in top condition either
So I was wondering, for £120 (roughly) is it worth getting silicone hoses? I'm not looking for any improvement to speed or noise I just want to get the best parts to get the car running as a daily runner and reduce hiccups with it.
Are silicone hoses worth getting or will a set of standard febi pipes do the trick?

The plus point will be that all hoses will be brand new if you're buying a full kit so should last you a good 20 years or so.
I've got silicone on mine, purely for looks. Believe the selling point is silicone can handle more pressure than rubber?

Looks was the main reason i found out about them to be honest. I mean if I'm gonna buy them, they'll look good and I'll never have to get another lot again then I'd be happy with that, the ones on VW heritage state they are mk1 golf hoses that fit Scirocco's. Will that definitely be the case or is there a chance the hoses might be too short?

You will need the Ancillary Hose Kit - £108 - as well as the Coolant Hose Kit - £117.50 - Total Price £215.50 - if you want to replace ALL the hoses in the cooling system.
The kits do NOT include a breather hose, as this is not part of the cooling system. You would have to buy a silicone equivalent (assuming there is such a copy), separately.

Coolant hoses in rubber...

You may need to call your local VW dealer to get new breather hoses.
Silicon hose do usually come with a lifetime guarantee so if you keep the car for a long time may be worth it but the VW rubber hoses on your car are properly the original ones fitted so they do last 25 years so they could also last a lifetime... (hope a life time is longer then Vauxhall's life time guarantee on new cars of 10 years, 100,000 miles!)

Thanks both of you for the help. There are other parts of the CSR that need more immediate attention at the moment such as the knackered exhaust and the rather crusty looking downpipe so I'll leave the hoses for the cooling system for now. Ive got a febi rubber breather hose online for £7 incl. Delivery so hopefully that'll do the trick. I've seen febi stuff on other sites so I'm hoping they make decent stuff, not just cheap
