Hello all, having trouble finding a a ducellier distributor for my gt2 just wondering if I could repair my existing one? It is leaking oil at the base and the rotor arm spindle is wobbling around causing me to go through far more caps and arms than I would like... Cheers in advance, jake.

From your description, I'd guess that a bearing inside it has failed.

Don't know how dismantle-able they are, I've never tried. But if you can strip it and extract the failed bearing a bearing factors should be able to match up a replacement

Pretty certain that some cars with the 1.8 EX engine had Bosch dizzys fitted as well, these may be easier to find! You could speak with your local friendly VW dealer and ask them for part numbers that are compatible.

Bearing sounds about right to me Nate. The car is my daily however so would rather know I can get everything done in a weekend ad back running for Monday.

Ianaudia- yep Bosch dizzy a are much easier to find ( euro for about 40 quid I think ) do you know if I could swap my ducellier over for Bosch without any problems as this would be a good fix for me?

Cheers.

Hi
I will check tomorrow to see what dizzy is in a spare GT2 1.8 EX engine I have.
If it is a bosch then the drive will be the same its going to be the electrical connections will be different but i have a complete loam as well.
But if its a ducellier it may be worth a trip if your not to far from Basingstoke

Hi Jake,
It is a Bosch dizzy also there is a module under the plastic scuttle which may be different to the ducellier it was a bit to dark tonight to trace the cables further.
The one way valve on mine used to leak and I may still need the pipe but we can discuss that on the day.
Also I have a brand new set of genuine Audi/vw ht leads and NGK plugs.

Cheers
Chris
