What a load of B******S, unless the bleed nipple has snapped in situ it should come out with a bit of heat and careful fettling!

Or soak in releasing fluid, nip up slightly tighter then undo
Or even drill it out if it is that stuck in there
That said, a new caliper should only be around 70 quid

It would be best to get new brake calliper as the labour costs I have spoke to them about this today.

Costs to apply heat, a few minutes with a blowtorch!!! I suggest you change your mechanic!

There is 2 sizes of bleed nipples but I guess yours will be the bigger size as they was used on later cars.
Info and part numbers here.

As with most garages now a days it's a case of just replace things for new ones instead of fixing the bits which are broken as that's the easy option.

Even if it is proper in there and needs drilling out, it should be cheaper than a replacement
