This year we are all set to make the 2014 Scirocco Register National Meet the best yet!
The event will be held on the 2nd August at RAF Cosford (http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/)
We have a few new plans in place to try and keep things fresh and make this the number 1 meet you must attend in your classic VW coupe
In Celebration of the 40th anniversary of our favourite VW Coupe we have some deals and prizes and fun and games!

Memberships
As with previous years we will be running a special "pay on the day" offer for those wishing to join up officially to the register and those renewing their memberships
The price will be £10 for the year (payment in cash or paypal ONLY)
Also as an extra Bonus (oh how we spoil you guys!), you will also receive one of these as a free gift:
A wonderful Scirocco Register Stainless steel travel mug!
(Membership details will be taken on the day and you will receive 1 free mug per membership. Your membership "pack" will be sent in the post in the following week after the event)

Raffle - In aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and in memory of Mel Davies http://www.macmillan.org.uk
This year we are going to try and raise some money for MacMillan Cancer Research
One of our own, Mel Davies, a regular attendee at the national meet for as long as i can remember, sadly lost her battle with Leukemia in March 2014
Mel was a joy to have around, a wonderful lady and will be sadly missed by all
MacMillan nurses helped Mel a lot in her last few weeks, so we would all ask you to dig deep and donate to the charity as much as you can
The raffle will consist of some cracking Prizes!:
- An hour of Ian's time to help you understand all the minute problems you have with your rocco! (bring plenty of vacuum hose!)
- Scirocco Register T-Shirt
- Free Membership for 1 Year
- Scirocco Register Mugs
- We have been donated a stonking prize but we'll keep that under wraps until the day

We will have a small selection of the new Scirocco Register Merchandise available to buy on the day
However we will generally be taking orders for items and posting them out in the week after the event (there is only so much you can fit in the boot of a rocco!)

Convoys
Obviously we at the Scirocco register cannot "officially" organise any sort of convoy for you
However the general consensus is for everyone to meet at Telford Services on Saturday Morning (time TBC)
From here it is a short drive to the site.
Trust me if you have not joined in the convoy before it is brilliant! 50+ Roccos all travelling together is a sight to behold!
There will be mini convoys heading to Telford from various parts of the country. Keep your eyes peeled on the forum if you want to join into one of these too

Camping
For those wishing to come and camp for the weekend, we have an organised camp site specifically for the event
For the umpteenth year in a row we will be heading to White Pump Farm again: http://www.whitepumpfarm.com/
Facilities are a little basic, however you will receive a very warm welcome, somewhere safe to park your car and a cheap nights sleep!
Price is confirmed at £8 per person, per night - No extra charges for cars, You can bring any tent you like as we have the whole field to ourselves.
We have been staying here for a few years now and the owner is a lovely chap and more than welcomes us every year with open arms.
There will be a "social" evening on the Saturday night with FREE BEER + FOOD! (whilst stocks last!) provided by the register
(Free beer will consist of a selection of Tesco's cheapest multi-packs of Lager, Bitter and Cider. Food will be provided by way of BBQ so expect burnt burgers and sausages etc.!)

The campsite is available from Friday 1st August, a few of us will be staying over Friday night too - Everyone is welcome to stay Friday so please come along early if you fancy a meet up with us before the main event

Hotel
For those not wishing to "slum it" with us campers!
There is a hotel deal being organised

Ian has organised a cracking deal for the last few years and, so i'm told, the hotel is excellent value
I believe there will be some sort of transport arrangement for people from the hotel to come visit at the campsite to partake in the social evening

RAF Cosford
The event will be at RAF Cosford http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/
Whilst we appreciate that this is not the best location for 100% of people, it is a central location in the UK and provides us with the facilities we need for free
There is a small on site parking charge of £3.50
This however allows you to park all day and enjoy not only the meet but also access to the whole museum!
So it is somewhat of a bargain, it really is a great day out to wander around the exhibits and as a bonus you get to see some of the finest VW Scirocco's in the UK! (and some Dutch and Belgian ones
