Tailgate question

I have the standard rear spoiler on my Scala but have a zender item tucked away in the shed, i want to remove the standard item and replace it with the Zender one, this would leave some holes in the tailgate. Would a bodyshop just use filler to do this and then paint over or would a small plate be welded in then finished off? What sort of price would you expect for this job?

If they do it properly, they will weld plates into the holes and then skim/fill to get a good finish. Not sure on price, but wouldn't expect to pay more than a couple of hundred.

Why not get another tailgate with only the lower fixxing points, have that painted in you colour and swap the hatch and window in total, keep yours for spare intact.

You can get a new one from VW Classic Parts, but it will set you back Eu 379.40 (Part No 533827025K).
