Fuel Filler Neck no longer available
Hi
I emailed VW Classic Parts in Germany to enquire about the fuel filler neck 533201129D shown
http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de ... utzen.html
and have received a reply saying "this part is not available any more".
Anybody know of an alternative - I've phoned VW Heritage but they want £377 !
Thanks

Try contacting this guy directly:
peter.alt@vw-classicparts.de
Whenever I need any parts I e-mail him to ensure availability, price & delivery. He's really helpful.
The filler neck should be about 134euro

The partnumber 533201129D is out of stock at the moment.
So Classic Parts is right at the moment.

Yes, its unfortunate - it is not clear if Classic will restock any time soon or not.
My local VW dealer can still get the 533201129C part. The "C" and "D" parts differ slightly. In my case (1984 Storm), the "C" part was actually the correct part. It is longer and uses the 1/4 turn twist on cap, rather than the screw-in cap.
The "C" part is about $263 in the States, or about 156GBP, so it is still expensive. The "D" part from Classic was less expensive. If you don't have any luck with Classic, you can check with your local dealer and see what they can do, or you can search the forums and see what other people are doing - modifying Mk1 Golf fuel necks, using plastic necks, etc.
Good luck!

BMW e36 filler necks have been utilised previously, they're plastic and at least one member on here had made fit to a mk2 with gentle coaxing and a heat gun.

As far as I know, Joost (Blueshark) can do the filler necks, its just the end piece thats a problem (that the cap goes onto) but im led to believe that if you lop yours off and send he'll attach it.
Could be wrong about all or some of the above but Blueshark will put you right im sure

Re: Fuel Filler Neck no longer available
I have the endpiece where the filler cap fits on.
The pipe itself is the problem pricewise due to a bit of labour going into bending and a bit of streching and schrinking which is needed.
Looking for a company or some one to make it cheaper but no luck so far.
