Car nearly stalling

Hey Hey Hey,

Right to pick all of your brains again

Basically when you rev the car and back off the accelerator the revs drop to around 400 rpm and very nearly stalls (sometime it does)

Engine idle is around 650-700 when settled

Also the oil pressure seems to drop with the revs as well (thinking this could be normal as the oil pump blah blah but just checking) see the videos below :)

thanks :thankyou:

The oil pressure increases with engine speed, so normal!

Your car should be idling at about 900 rpm, if it doesn't then this will need adjusting but check the Auxiliary Air Valve, as this assists the warm up process and if if is not working as intending will cause idle issues.

It looks like idling at 1.5 bar and increasing to nearly 5 bar, so looks normal.

As Ian has already said, check the aav is working and also the pipes attached to it. I had idle issues that were due to a rubber hose that had rubbed through on the brake pivot on the bulkhead

Guessing it's fuel injection? check the idle screw/bolt, it's a common fault for them to work them selves lose and sometimes fall out. There is also an O ring fitted on the bolt/screw which can perish so maybe check that as well, I used a little bit of thread lock on mine as it kept coming lose and the idle kept dropping after a couple of months.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

As suggested I took the valve off and cleaned it out, seemed to have a fair amount of oil in/on it. And I also check the idle screw which had a mark and it that it was miles off.

Now it idle is around 900-1k RPM and it doesn't seem to drop out when revved :-) but time will tell.
I'm sure there can't be much more wrong with this car... There nothing left lol
Thanks again

Just checking as I've never seen the idle screw marked?
The idle screw is just above the vacuum hose on the right in the picture, it's near the bulk head when fitted to the car, where the fingers are is where the accelerator cable fits (stolen picture from internet) don't adjust the idle on these stops.
