Hi All,

It's been a veeerrry long time since I have bought a set of these. What does everyone think the best ones are?

I'm looking at - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140926992670? ... EBIDX%3AIT

I've bought some cheap ones in the past and they've been pretty crap.

Cheers
Jason

you shouldn't use silicone on cars, it will attack the paint and make the steel underneath rust. PU or butyl sealant should be used instead

I bought those plates and they are fitted to both my Scirocco and Golf, Scirocco someone tried to break in so it covers the damage and the golf are there as extra security.
They have been fitted to the cars for about 15 years and both look good, the Golf is my daily drive so the door plates are out in all weather and they don't rust.
I found I had to bend the locking catch in the door as the door plate moves the handle a couple of mm away from the door working but fit it first and see how it fits, I also did not use the orginal door handle gasket as that was adding more gap.
